How much does a grazing table cost in Melbourne? (2026)
A grazing table is priced by its length and the number of guests it feeds. At Platter and Co, tables start at $300 for a 0.5 m fruit table and go up to $3,100 for a 6 m savoury table that feeds up to 180. This guide explains how our prices work so you can choose the right size.
Treat the examples below as a guide. The full price list is further down the page.
How grazing table pricing works
Each table style comes in a set of sizes. For savoury, sweet, fruit and kids tables, a size is a length, from 0.5 m up to 6 m, and each length lists the most guests it feeds. Brunch tables are priced by guest numbers, starting at $650 for a small group of 10 to 15.
The guest number is a maximum. A table for up to 35 guests works for fewer, but you pay for that capacity, so size it to the guests you expect.
Working out the cost per guest
To get a rough cost per head, divide the price by the guests a table feeds. The examples use the top of each size range. Per-head costs fall as tables get bigger, from about $33 for our smallest savoury table to about $17 for our largest.
- A 0.5 m savoury table for up to 15 guests is $500, about $33 a head.
- A 1 m savoury table for up to 35 guests is $850, about $24 a head.
- A 2 m savoury table for up to 55 guests is $1,250, about $23 a head.
- A 3 m savoury table for up to 75 guests is $1,800, about $24 a head.
- A 5 m savoury table for up to 150 guests is $2,600, about $17 a head.
Savoury, sweet, brunch, fruit and kids compared
Comparing similar sizes shows how the styles differ. Fruit comes out lowest per head here.
- Savoury: a 1 m table for up to 35 guests is $850 (about $24 a head), with cheeses, cured meats, sourdough, crackers, dips and olives.
- Sweet: a 1 m table for up to 35 guests is $750 (about $21 a head), with donuts, slices, cookies, chocolate and fresh fruit.
- Brunch: a table for 25 to 30 guests is $800 (about $27 a head at 30), with pastries, waffles, frittata or quiche and muesli.
- Fruit: a 1 m table for up to 40 guests is $650 (about $16 a head), with fresh seasonal fruit.
- Kids: a 1 m table for up to 30 guests is $750 (about $25 a head), with items such as fairy bread, carrot sticks, hummus and sweet treats.
What is included
Our team arrives up to 2 hours before your event to set up the table, and we supply everything you need for the day. The set-up is disposable or recyclable, so clean-up is easy and nothing needs to be returned.
Prefer a different look? You can hire stone, dishes or silverware. Tell us when you enquire and we'll include it in your quote. If you'd like hot food, you'll need a fully functioning kitchen at your venue.
Deposit, balance and notice
Tables need at least 5 days' notice. After you send the enquiry form, we reply within 24 hours to check your date. If it's free, we send an invoice, and your booking is confirmed once the 50% non-refundable deposit is paid. The balance is due 72 hours before your event, or your booking may be cancelled.
For example, a 1 m savoury table at $850 means a $425 deposit and $425 due 72 hours before. A 2 m savoury table at $1,250 means $625 and $625.

Tips for choosing a size
The right size depends on your guests and your event. A few tips:
- Count adults and children separately. The enquiry form asks for both.
- Tell us how long the event runs and whether other food is being served, and we'll help you choose.
- Mix styles if you like. The form lets you pick more than one.
- Tell us about dietary needs. We can cater for gluten free, dairy free, nut free, vegan and vegetarian on request.
- Fewer than 10 guests? A grazing box may suit better. A large savoury box feeds up to 6 for $165.
