Corporate grazing tables in Melbourne
A corporate grazing table is a spread of food set up at your office or venue for guests to help themselves, so a team or a room of clients can mingle without a sit-down meal. Platter and Co makes savoury, sweet, brunch and fruit tables for work events across Melbourne, feeding 10 to 180 guests, and our team sets up for you.
We are a women-owned business with a kitchen at 238 Flinders Street in the Melbourne CBD, rated 4.6 stars from 22 Google reviews. Tables need at least 5 days' notice, so book early for busy times like the end of the year.
Which work events suit a grazing table?
A grazing table suits any work event where people stand, talk and help themselves instead of sitting down to a meal. Guests serve themselves as they arrive, so the food works for staggered arrivals and longer events. Our corporate catering page has more on office events.
- Product launches and client events, where guests arrive at different times.
- End-of-year parties and team celebrations. See our Christmas catering page.
- Training days and workshops, where food sits out through the breaks. See how long a grazing platter can sit out.
- Morning teas and team breakfasts.
- Melbourne Cup lunches. See our Melbourne Cup catering page.
Which style suits which time of day?
Choose the style by the time your event starts. Each style comes in set sizes, and the enquiry form lets you pick more than one.
- Morning: a brunch grazing table has mini pastries, toasted banana bread, waffles, frittata or quiche, and muesli with yoghurt. A fruit grazing table of 8 seasonal fruits is a lighter choice.
- Lunch: a savoury grazing table has 3 to 4 cheeses, salami and prosciutto, sourdough, crackers, dips and olives.
- Afternoon: a sweet grazing table of donuts, slices, cookies and chocolate suits an afternoon tea or a celebration.
- After work: a savoury table with a sweet table beside it covers both tastes.
What size table do I need for my team?
Choose a size from your headcount. The guest number on each size is the most it feeds, so a smaller crowd can use it. Tell us the headcount, how long the event runs and whether other food is being served, and we will help you choose.
Our grazing table for 50 people guide compares the options for a mid-size team, and how much food a grazing table needs explains the numbers.
- Savoury and sweet tables: 0.5 m feeds up to 15, 1 m up to 35, 2 m up to 55, 3 m up to 75, 4 m up to 120 and 6 m up to 180.
- Brunch tables are sized by guest numbers, from 10 to 15 guests up to 100.
- Fruit tables: 0.5 m feeds up to 20, 1 m up to 40, 2 m up to 60 and 3.5 m up to 100.
- Fewer than 10 people? A small team suits grazing boxes, which feed 1 to 6.
How does set-up work at the office?
Our team arrives up to 2 hours before your start time and sets up the table, with everything you need for the day. The set-up is disposable or recyclable, so nothing needs to come back to us unless you hire stone, dishes or silverware for a dressier look.
Tell us the access details when you enquire, so set-up runs smoothly. That includes the floor, the lift or loading dock, where we should unload, who meets our team at reception and where the table will go. If you want hot food, the venue needs a fully functioning kitchen.
What can I add, and what about dietary needs?
Sandwiches (48 triangles) and wraps (24 pieces) suit a working lunch, and fresh fruit juices go well with a morning table. For a standing event, add canapés, which have a minimum order of 30: sausage rolls, vegetarian rolls, party pies, pastizzi, lamb koftas, free-range chicken skewers, arancini balls and fresh fruit skewers. One-person grazing cones give each guest their own serve. See our grazing table add-ons page.
A team usually has a mix of diets. We can cater for gluten free, dairy free, nut free, vegan and vegetarian needs on request, so tell us the numbers for each and any allergies when you enquire. Our kitchen handles a range of foods, so we do not make allergen-free guarantees.
